John handles many of  our firm's significant negligence matters, including construction accidents, burn injury cases, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability cases  and defective products cases. His experiences before becoming an attorney – as a construction laborer and a NYPD supervisor – give him a unique perspective and skills to investigate difficult cases and achieve justice for our clients.

John has been called a "Matador in the Courtoom", and "Fierce", "deadly", and "elegant" by his jurors. John is part of KDLM’s legendary dedication to serving clients and helping them achieve the justice they deserve.  In his most recent Trial in June 2016, John won a $1.7 million dollar verdict for our client, a prominent international tax attorney who re-injured when he slipped on a wet floor at his office.  The defendants had offered no money to settle the case.  The verdict was featured in the New York Law Journal and listed in New York Verdicts and Settlements.

John’s investigative skills have uncovered multiple instances of corporate cover-ups, falsification of official accident and incident reports, and memoranda that proved culpability or were doctored to disguise wrong-doing. Achieving justice for innocent, injured victims motivates John to look harder, dig deeper, and not accept assurances that everything was done properly, safely, or "by the book."

Coming from a large police family, John worked his way through college first as a construction laborer   in Local Union No. 79 --on construction and building projects here in New York City. The Grandson of a Union Sandhog John has been around the construction industry for decades.

During his tenure with the police force he served in multiple commands and was awarded more than two dozen medals and commendations for bravery, and was personally awarded the "Community Police Officer of the Year" by the Police Commissioner. John was later selected as the sole recipient of the Police Department’s fellowship to attend the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University – where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Public Administration.  At Harvard John developed problem solving skills which serve our clients well.  His tenacious representation of clients wronged by big companies is well-known and respected throughout the legal community.

Since 2007, John has been an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at Fordham Law coaching law students to compete in national trial competitions. John is a fellow of the National Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and was elected to the Board of Directors  of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA).  John is also a member of the NYPD Honor Legion, and often speaks to law enforcement and construction industry groups about workplace safety and workplace injuries.

John graduated magna cum laude from the City University of New York, received his Masters from Harvard, and his JD from Fordham Law School, where he graduated with honors. John is admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in New York and Massachusetts.

When he is not fighting for his clients, he is chasing his two young sons, both of whom are under the age of two.
